Description

A collection of all 13 published works by the English poet Thomas Gray, a popular literary figure of the eighteenth century. Also included is a short account of the author's life, his last will and testament, and an ode to the memory of Mr. Gray. Bound together with the original text is the "Observations on the Writings and on the Character of Mr. Gray" which also contains a memoir on the Rev. Norton Nicholls (a good friend of the author), written by Thomas Mathias and published in 1815.

"Poems by Mr. Gray" is a collection of all 13 published works by the English poet Thomas Gray. The book also serves as a memorial to the author's legacy as a literary figure. Many additional pieces of work focus solely on Gray, including a short biography, an ode to his memory, his last will and testament, and "Observations on the Writings and on the Character of Mr. Gray".

Hardcover, brown leather binding in very good condition. Raised cords on spine, most likely rebacked. Minimal gold tooling along edges of board and cords. Title stamped "Gray's Poems".
