Malcolm X was a national leader and he promoted Black Nationalism to the black communities and internationally. When Malcolm X was a child he had experience with problems that were occurring in the black community when he was a child. Malcolm X’s father, Earl Little was a preacher and a Garveyite. A Garveyite a person who believes in Garveyism and Garveyism is a political belief that advocates the separation of the black race and the formation of separate black states. Malcolm’s father was very influential on Malcolm as a kid. Earl Little taught his teachings to those who came to the meetings and Malcolm would be there to evaluate and watch his father. This could be a part of the reason why Malcolm was such an amazing orator. On September 28, 1931 Malcolm x’s father Earl Little was ran over by a streetcar in Lansing. Earl Little was found on the street E. Michigan Ave and Detroit St. he was taken to hospital where he later on died. Malcolm’s father was allegedly murdered by the black legion which was a racist terrorists group that was located in Lansing. This is important because in this tragedy Malcolm’s views on how black people are treated could have formed around this time in his youth. After his father’s death Malcolm began to lash out and he often found himself in trouble.
