Henry Ford was born July 30, 1863 in Dearborn, Michigan. He grew up and became worth over $200 billion. Many would ask how did he become so successful? Starting early in his life Ford was fascinated with automobiles.2 He moved to Detroit when he was 16 years old to pursue his interest in machinery. At the age of 36, Ford created his first automobile called the Quadricycle. The Quadricycle could drive at about 20 miles an hour and gave Ford hope for the future.

Ford had a few trial cars that weren’t so successful when he first developed the Ford Motor company. He found the company in 1903.4 His next successful invention was the creation of the Model T. The Model T was created in 1908 and was sold until 1927.The development of the Model T was important because it was the first car that was seen as affordable to most Americans. The Model T also led to Ford’s invention of the assembly line, and the increase of wages to $5 a day. These were the most important as they changed the ways Americans saw the manufacturing and automobile business. Ford also had an impact on the middle class as he helped create it with this evolutionary idea of paying his workers $5 a day.
